Why a Recirculating Machine Won’t Do Everything You Want It To Do
No Limitations with a TurfMaker® |
Thicker Slurries are needed on hard soils and wet soils. Soupy mixes run when applied to hard or wet soils. Inadequate mulch applications are an invitation to wash-outs and poor germination. It is not possible to make thick slurries with jet agitation machines. Wood Fiber Mulch is frequently specified by landscape architects and governmental agencies. It is not practical to use 100% wood mulch in any jet agitation machine. It clogs. Wood fiber mulch is easy with a TurfMaker® and mechanical agitation. Bonded Fiber Matrix products are special wood mulch products that must be mixed and applied more thickly than even regular wood mulch applications. These products can not be used in any jet agitation machine as specified by the mulch manufacturer. Bonded Fiber Matrix products are easy with a TurfMaker®. Hydro-Sprigging: A TurfMaker® mixes and pumps any kind of slurry, including Hydro-Sprigging, very easily. Typical loading and mixing time for a TurfMaker® is 4 to 7 minutes, depending upon the size of the unit. It is very easy to pump a thick slurry through 300 feet of hose with any TurfMaker®. Soupy Mixes are needed on dry powdery soils and on sandy soils. Jet agitation machines can only make soupy mixes. Although they are slow, a jet agitation machine can spray a soupy mix of paper mulch onto a loose soil and grow a nice lawn some of the time.
