TurfMaker® v.s. Mechanical Agitation Machines

· Most mechanical agitation machines perform dramatically better than any jet agitation machine.

· Most mechanical agitation machines will do just about any job equally well.

· Most mechanical agitation machines are mechanically sound and reliable.

TurfMaker® Differences When Compared to Good Competitors

1. User Friendliness - Easier to Operate

  • When compared with any competitive machine of similar size, all TurfMakers® have loading areas that are lower to the ground. Every inch a worker must lift 50 lb bags of mulch and fertilizer is fatiguing.
  • All TurfMakers® have light-weight hose. Application hose needs to be 1½" inside diameter to pump better mulch slurries through 200 feet of hose, frequently needed on job sites. Good hard hose weighs 50-60 lbs per 100 feet. TurfMaker® hose weighs about 30 lbs per 100 feet.
  • The TurfMaker® hose flush system pumps the mulch out of the hose and eliminates about 100 lbs of slurry per 100 ft of hose. Empty hose is much easier to handle.
  • All TurfMakers® have proprietary private-labeled hose that is the most durable and kink-resistant collapsible hose on the market.

2. Numerous Clog Prevention Features

  • Avoid Clogs: All TurfMakers® have the TurfMaker® designed and developed option of a "Clear Water Hose Flushing System". Flushing the pump and pipes of the machine and the hose eliminates clogs.
  • Avoid Clogs: All TurfMakers® have a garden hose connection and stratigically positioned valves so that clear water and city water pressure can be directed to any clog point in the flow of material on the machine. Garden hose water can also be used to flush mulch from the machine and the hose. Mulch left in pipes and hoses will clog the pipes and hoses.
  • Avoid Clogs: All TurfMakers® have free flow hose fitting, reamed and beveled nozzles, and specific bell reducers. All three of these are clog points on any machine. TurfMakers® TurfMakers are less likely to clog than any other machine on the market.

3. The Best Pump for Thick Slurries and Long Hose

  • All TurfMakers® have a double rotary gear pump that provides powerful pumping while using a minimum amount of engine horsepower. It is not uncommon to see a TurfMaker® with a 13 HP engine have more hose pumping power than a centrifugal pump machine with a 35 HP engine.
  • TurfMaker® has developed a special gear for the industry-standard double rotary gear pump. This gear has stainless steel wear surfaces but still utilizes the efficiency of the rubber molded gear. This new gear lasts substantially longer than a standard rubber gear and doesn't rust like the standard steel gear. This may be the most significant breakthrough in rotary gear pump technology since the development of stainless steel pump liners and stainless steel wear plates. A patent has been filed for the design of this new gear.
  • TurfMaker® developed the stainless steel case liners and the stainless steel wear plates for the industry standard double rotary gear pump. These liners and wear plates are available as an option and pumps with these options can be retro-fitted to any machine with an industry standard double rotary gear pump.
  • TurfMaker® also offers industry standard steel gears as an option.

4. The Most Simple Mechanical Design that Lasts a Lifetime

  • TurfMakers® do not have conventional clutches, exposed chains, or hydraulic drive systems.
  • All TurfMakers® utilize heavy duty belt drive systems with belt tensioners to engage and disengage the agitator and pump. The agitator and the pump operate independently.
  • If you can turn a wrench, you can work on a TurfMaker®. When service is needed, the operator can certainly perform any service or repair. Phone help is always available.
  • If the operator prefers to take a TurfMaker® to a shop for service, the machine is significantly less complicated than any riding lawnmower; it can be serviced by any lawnmower repair shop.
  • 5. More Machine - Less Money
  • Add all these features together and you have a machine easier to operate, you avoid clogging, you have more pumping power, and you have an incredibly simple machine. Further, a TurfMaker® costs less (sometimes a lot less) than any good competitor.
